Biography

After lockdown: Jetpack Kitten thought "I want people to hear my voice".

And so, Jetpack Kitten was born.

Jetpack Kitten’s mind awoke from lockdown in December 2022.

Jetpack Kitten thought "I want people to hear my voice".

And so, Jetpack Kitten was born.

Philip Aberneithy is a musician who performs eccentricly as Jetpack Kitten.

Jetpack Kitten wrote over one hundred small ditties, between December 2022 and December 2023. These ditties were listened to by friends on YouTube, refined and performed live at open mics.

The ditties were turned into fourteen songs.

Jetpack Kitten brought the songs to two other incredibly talented musicians - Grace Millett (Bass, Vocals, Keys) and Valery Abril (Drums), who collaborated with them to record and perform these songs live.

Jetpack Kitten’s lyrics matter.

They're about equal rights for everyone, inspired by their mixed ethnic background, and a skin condition Jetpack Kitten has called vitiligo.

Jetpack Kitten only writes songs with meaning. Each song has to convey something deep or else Jetpack Kitten wouldn’t be able to sing with passion.

Tracks like Alive challenge judgment based on appearance, while Running expresses unconditional support for others. Both reflect Jetpack Kitten’s values of empathy, equality and personal connection.

In 2023-2024, Jetpack Kitten performed over 30 live gigs, open mics and a festival, including shows at the iconic Dublin Castle and Ram Jam Records.

Audiences compare Jetpack Kitten to their favourite artists - Talking Heads, Meatloaf, Joan Armatrading & Bowie.

Live audiences say that Jetpack Kitten sound unique and magical:

  • "The most unique artist I’ve seen live in 4-5 years."

  • "Watching Jetpack Kitten felt like I was witnessing magic."

  • "Jetpack Kitten sounds like Talking Heads!"

What’s next? In 2025, Jetpack Kitten wants to be playing UK festivals. And hey, maybe we’ll play on Jools Holland’s at Christmas, too.

Songwriting

Almost every day Jetpack Kitten is songwriting - and they’ve been doing this for the past two years.

They write small ditties.

They then play the small ditties to interested listeners at open mics to see what works.

The ditties are then refined into songs.

Words matter.

Every song Jetpack Kitten writes has a meaning.

They never write a song without meaning, because without meaning, there’s no real message. And without that, Jetpack Kitten wouldn’t be able to sing it with any kind of passion.
