Songs December 2022 - July 2024

The first verse and chorus were initially written in December 2022.
Running is a song about being there for another being (human or animal).
When another being is going through a time of pain, you can help them as much as you can, but sometimes they won't want that help at that specific time, they may want help when the pain stops - 'When the water subsides, and you find yourself on dry land you'll see me running to hold your hand'.
You of course, need to confirm that they want any help in the first place.
The lyrics are water-based, with water being a metaphor for life.
'When you find yourself on dry land' / 'When the water subsides' - When you've made it out of the hardest part.
'If I need to swim, then I will' - If you need me to come in and help you I will.
On a fun note, in response to the phrase - 'If the seas rise, mountains fall, or zombies attack'.
An audience member said that they would usually discuss a zombie apocalypse with their neighbour and how they would help each other out if a zombie apocalypse did happen! - I guess this sums up the song!

Alive is a song written to say - no matter what I look like, you have no right to judge me.
Phil started writing the initial riff to Alive in April 2023.
The lyrics of Alive are based on Phil's experiences of living with Vitiligo - a long-term autoimmune condition where one develops white patches on the skin.
Grace and Valery remixed the arrangement and respectively added a funky bassline and funky Latin drums.
This is one of Jetpack Kitten’s favourite songs to play live, as it's just a fun, funky song!

Written in 2024 by Jetpack Kittens, the lyric 'Shoulders Down, Just Relax' came out of various ditties that Phil was writing.
Grace then improved on the Middle 8 lyrics and added more musical colour with lyrical arrangement around 'I want live in the countryside, where I can just relax' - Phil and Grace sung this line together in the studio, and figured it sounded pretty good with both their voices.
Valery added more colour with the percussive elements around the Middle 8.
At the time Phil wrote the original ditty he recons he was just trying to be relaxed, but honestly he can't remember!
A fellow open-mic participant once said that the song helped them feel relaxed before they performed, and said that we've created a self-help song.
Phil likes singing this song in his head when Phil needs to take a break from the fast pace of the world today.

Yesterday was written over the course of 2023 and 2024.
Phil wrote it for one of his childhood friends who he hadn't seen for a while, and he felt they were down at the time. Basically it's just Phil saying, 'The worlds a hard place when you feel down' but don't worry, cause you got family / friends around you to help you out.
Grace added the catchy harmonies, and the catchy clapping bit.
Valery added colour using a solid percussive element on top of the 195BPM track! Which is very hard to do.
